Join MDPI's FP&A and Corporate Finance team as an FP&A Analyst, where you will transform financial data into strategic insights that drive business decisions. Working on-site in Basel, you will collaborate with finance teams across our European and North American operations, preparing comprehensive analyses and forecasts that shape our company's direction. Job Responsibility
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly variance analyses, comparing actual results against prior year performance and current forecasts
Build and maintain financial models, update forecasts, and create dashboards using data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to track key performance indicators
Support the forecasting process for all MDPI offices, ensuring accurate projections and communicating results clearly to management
Collect and prepare financial reports according to MDPI reporting standards, supporting continuous improvement of reporting processes and data quality
Collaborate with AR and Accounting teams to validate revenue booking and streamline the month-end closing process
Conduct ad-hoc analyses and support new projects related to financial reporting and analysis
Participate in the consolidation of the group's financial statements
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, or business economics (Master's degree or Swiss federal certificate in finance/accounting is a plus)
2+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, Controlling, Reporting, or Corporate Finance
Experience with forecasting and variance analysis is essential
international company experience is advantageous
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft O365, Power BI, SQL, and financial analysis tools
English proficiency at C1 level required
German at B1 level or higher
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to transform financial data into practical insights and communicate findings effectively
Excellent time management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
