Job Description

Founding Product Engineer required to join a mission-driven Applied AI startup in London. An exceptional opportunity for a Founding Product Engineer to help build a purpose-led Applied AI company from the ground up. This early-stage London-based start-up is using cutting-edge AI to solve real-world, high-impact problems, combining technical innovation with meaningful social outcomes. This is a role for a builder who wants to work at the intersection of product, AI, and impact. Someone who can move from idea to production quickly, while shaping the technical foundations of a company designed to scale responsibly.

Requirements

  • Product-minded full-stack engineer who thinks beyond code and cares deeply about user outcomes
  • Comfortable operating at 0→1 and energised by ambiguity
  • Experienced in shipping production-ready products end-to-end
  • Strong in modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React / Next.js or similar)
  • Confident building scalable backend systems (e.g. Node, Python, or similar)
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and excited by genuine ownership

Nice to have

  • You've founded or co-founded an AI start-up
  • You've built and shipped product yourself
  • Previously operated as a founding engineer or engineer in an early-stage start-up

  • Assist in the generation of documentation (e.g. FIPS security policies, CC security targets), whether creating/editing directly or working with an external author
  • Provide consulting, information, and advice to developers and QA around how certification works
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with accredited labs and engineering/QA to ensure project milestones are on track
  • Communicate gaps and deficiencies found by accredited testing labs to the relevant engineering and product teams to ensure remediation
  • Monitor government standards and communicate to management and engineering when changes are made that may impact a release
