Formulation Chemist

• Ensure proper housekeeping of the laboratory while maintaining Solvay's safety requirements and procedures in the laboratory
• Conducting patent and literature survey
• Working with different teams and testing new/existing & surfactants under development
• Basic knowledge and handling of analytical equipment for characterization of formulations
• Communicating results through effective written documentation and oral presentations
• Planning day-to-day activities with minimum supervision
• Building global technical data for Solvay's products and systematic records of experiment results in an electronic format
• Managing the purchase and calibration of laboratory equipment, consumables, and sourcing raw materials
• Supporting the Marketing team by recommending products in terms of chemistry and developing new applications from the existing product portfolio
• Supporting the Production department in testing performance, batch release, etc.

• M.Sc. (Agrochemicals / Pesticide Chemistry), M.Sc. (Chemistry), B Tech with relevant Agro experience of 1-2 years
• Basic knowledge of surfactants, pesticide formulation chemistry from traditional formulations to new generation formulations
• Should be able to work with pesticides on different instruments like Air jet mill, Bead mill, Extruder, Fluid bed dryer etc.
• Preferred if has handled Particle size analyser, Rheometer, HPLC, GC, IR, Goniometer, optical Microscope
• Good experience in use of MS office, lab data handling, analyses, interpretation and communicating in a presentable format
• Be a good team player, have good work ethics as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills
