We are seeking a Formulation Chemist to join our R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated chemist to develop next-generation resin formulations for additive manufacturing and other advanced applications, working from concept through to commercial production.
Job Responsibility
Develop and optimise photopolymer resin formulations for 3D printing and related technologies
Design and conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate formulation performance
Characterise materials using analytical and physical testing techniques
Analyse experimental data and make evidence-based recommendations for formulation improvements
Scale laboratory formulations into pilot and production environments
Support product validation, quality improvement and troubleshooting activities
Maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation
Stay informed of developments in polymer chemistry, materials science and additive manufacturing
Work collaboratively across R&D, Production, Quality and Commercial teams
Requirements
Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science or a related discipline
Ideally experience in formulation development within an industrial or research environment
Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to interpret experimental data and communicate findings clearly
Self-motivated with a proactive and collaborative approach
Nice to have
Experience with UV-curable systems, photopolymers or resin chemistry
Knowledge of polymerisation mechanisms and material characterisation techniques
Experience within additive manufacturing, coatings, adhesives, inks or composites
Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical analysis
Experience supporting scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing
