We are seeking a Formulation Chemist to join our R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated chemist to develop next-generation resin formulations for additive manufacturing and other advanced applications, working from concept through to commercial production.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and optimise photopolymer resin formulations for 3D printing and related technologies
  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate formulation performance
  • Characterise materials using analytical and physical testing techniques
  • Analyse experimental data and make evidence-based recommendations for formulation improvements
  • Scale laboratory formulations into pilot and production environments
  • Support product validation, quality improvement and troubleshooting activities
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation
  • Stay informed of developments in polymer chemistry, materials science and additive manufacturing
  • Work collaboratively across R&D, Production, Quality and Commercial teams

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science or a related discipline
  • Ideally experience in formulation development within an industrial or research environment
  • Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to interpret experimental data and communicate findings clearly
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and collaborative approach

Nice to have

  • Experience with UV-curable systems, photopolymers or resin chemistry
  • Knowledge of polymerisation mechanisms and material characterisation techniques
  • Experience within additive manufacturing, coatings, adhesives, inks or composites
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical analysis
  • Experience supporting scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing
