Job Description:

We are looking for a Formulation Chemist to join our Formulation Technology Group. This position would be suitable for new graduates or scientists with fewer than 5 years of experience. The work will be at the forefront of Crop Protection research, so we are looking for scientists with a passion to learn and stay up to date with technological advancements. Job Responsibility:

  • Researching novel formulation technologies
  • Understanding how growers apply their products
  • Developing new chemical crop protection products, using automation where appropriate
  • Applying a fundamental understanding of chemistry and a scientific approach to design, prepare, and characterize novel formulations in the lab and at grower‑relevant scale
  • Testing formulation performance through representative experiments
  • Planning and conducting experimental work programmes
  • Integrating well into the lab community
  • Taking responsibility for specific equipment and lab spaces
  • Working within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Recording, reporting, presenting, and discussing data with scientists from other functions

Requirements:

  • Experience of working independently and safely in a chemical lab environment
  • Scientific curiosity and a passion for continuous learning
  • Good organisational and project management skills
  • A dynamic and enthusiastic attitude to problem solving
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and networking skills
  • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related scientific subject
  • Equivalent work experience will also be considered
