Certificate in a field related to construction and/or carpentry or equivalent working experience
Three (3) years of experience
Ability to read drawings (specifically concrete/precast erection drawings)
Ability to cut, bend and fix rebar and molds
Ability to build concrete forms for various construction projects
Able to read part lists and identify parts to use in assembly
Able to use various power and hand tools
Ability to firmly adhere to all health and safety codes and regulations
Able to perform tasks independently under general direction
Able to work at heights

Job Responsibility

Building concrete forms for walls, stairs, and foundations for various construction projects
Estimating height, width, length, and other proportions
Selecting appropriate materials for the required job
Working with blueprints or instructions from supervisors to prepare and join materials
Utilizing chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
Joining materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
Checking work along the way to ensure it’s up to code and specifications
Using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to perform layout and ensure everything is level and secure

1 year of related construction experience
Considerable knowledge of rough and finish carpentry
Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials and safety practices of carpentry work

Job Responsibility

Design, build, install, and repair structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel
Cut, fit, and assemble lumber and plywood, and other materials to be used as concrete forms
Set forms for concrete construction
Erect scaffolding
Do finishing work
Measure accurately and mark precise cutting lines on materials
Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
Verify trueness of structure, set grade, check for plumb
Shape or cut materials to specified measurements
Read specifications, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and form drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required

Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested
