As a Forklift Training Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of their warehouse operations, responsible for training, mentoring, and certifying new forklift operators on the Crown Reach truck. Your expertise will ensure that the team operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role is perfect for a Forklift Training Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys sharing their knowledge with others. You will spend the first 3-4 months training on the day shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) to get acquainted with the team and processes. Following this initial period, you will transition to an afternoon or night shift, offering flexibility in your work schedule. The work environment is a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled facility, maintaining a temperature between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius to handle dry and confectionary products. Your role is critical to the operational success of the facility, making this a key position within the Randstad Operational framework. Job Responsibility:
Conduct comprehensive, hands-on training for new and existing employees on the safe and efficient operation of the Crown Reach forklift
Develop, update, and deliver training materials, presentations, and practical assessments in line with company policies and provincial safety regulations
Mentor, coach, and provide constructive feedback to trainees to ensure they develop the necessary skills and confidence
Evaluate and document operator performance, maintaining accurate and detailed training records for all warehouse personnel
Champion a culture of safety by promoting best practices, conducting safety talks, and identifying potential hazards within the warehouse
Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including moving full skids and supporting daily operational flow to maintain productivity
Operate an RF scanner and use basic computer software, including Microsoft Outlook, to manage communications and document tasks
Collaborate with the management team to identify training needs and contribute to the continuous improvement of the operational training program
Perform routine pre-use inspections on material handling equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience operating a Crown Reach forklift in a busy warehouse setting
Demonstrated experience in a formal or informal forklift training or mentoring capacity
Flexibility to work an afternoon or night shift after completing an initial 3-4 month training period on the day shift
Must provide your own pair of CSA-approved safety shoes
Ability to successfully pass a forklift assessment and a clear criminal background check
Physical capability to work in a cold environment (2 to 5 degrees Celsius) and perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting
Must not have any nut or peanut allergies, as this is a nut facility
A stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment
Nice to have:
Reach forklift certification is an asset
A valid Train-the-Trainer or Forklift Instructor certification is a strong asset
