We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Forklift Operator - Stocking for our Tallmadge location. This role is primarily responsible for operating a forklift to move prime product into the warehouse. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, committed to safe work practices, and comfortable working independently throughout the shift. The Forklift Operator - Stocking is an hourly position, reporting to the Controller/Warehouse Leader. The Forklift Operator - Stocking is primarily responsible and accountable for stocking all finished good material from production into the appropriate area in the warehouse.
Job Responsibility:
Consistent management of the transition building to ensure that all finished good material is moved to appropriate stocking bays by end of shift
Work diligently to consistently open/reorganize/consolidate bays as appropriate with changeover schedule impact as a priority
Comply with inventory management, including but not limited to individual pallet tracking, cycle counts, rework, and customer returns
Work with other departments involved in activities relating to customer returns, product integrity, and production of finished goods
Utilize RF terminal to properly scan appropriate products to staging location and electronically record movement of inventory to order from warehouse information system
Perform job tasks in a manor to reduce adverse impact to the environment and adhere to environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal and all chemical usage and waste
Identify quality and/or damage concerns and take proper actions to prevent recurrence
Perform cleanup duties including, but not limited to workstations, transition building, and longboard area
Participate in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant
Comply with all plant rules, safety regulations, and JHA requirements
Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
Must be 18 years or older
Must be drug and alcohol free
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Must be able to bend, lift up to 50lbs, kneel, stoop, stand, drive in a tow motor for 12+/hrs per day
Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
Must have the ability to multi-task and work independently
Must work well in team environment
Must be able to secure and maintain Powered Industrial Vehicle Certification
Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations
Must be able to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment
