Job Description:

Randstad is looking for a self-motivated Night Forklift Operator to join a fast-paced transportation leader in Southeast Calgary. Offering a competitive pay rate of $22.00 – $23.00 per hour, this is a high-impact role where you are the backbone of the night operation. The regular schedule is 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM, though you must be available for an initial training period during the afternoon shift. In the world of LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipping, the dock never stops, and we need an operator with a valid forklift ticket who can work independently to keep the freight moving. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trailers with precision, ensuring every pallet is placed perfectly for the next leg of its journey. If you enjoy the autonomy of a night shift and take pride in your ability to manage a busy dock with minimal supervision, this is the stable, long-term opportunity you’ve been looking for.

Job Responsibility:

  • Safely operate a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift to move LTL freight across the dock
  • Load and unload various types of trailers, ensuring weight distribution is balanced
  • Work independently to prioritize shipments based on departure times
  • Scan and track freight using handheld devices to maintain 100% inventory accuracy
  • Identify and report any damaged goods before they are loaded for transport
  • Maintain a clean and organized dock floor to ensure a safe transition for the morning crew

Requirements:

  • Valid Forklift Ticket/Certification
  • Must be available for afternoon training before moving to the regular night shift
  • 1–2 years of experience operating a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift
  • Must have CSA-approved steel-toed boots and high-visibility gear

Nice to have:

Previous experience with LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight
