Job Description:

Do you possess solid technical expertise and are looking for a stimulating new challenge within an elite maintenance team? Our recruitment agency is currently collaborating with an industrial sector leader looking to add a new forklift mechanic to support their growing operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Inspect and accurately diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to ensure equipment reliability
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks in the shop or directly at client sites in Chambly
  • Overhaul and remanufacture engines and hydraulic systems to extend the operational life of the fleet
  • Ensure transparent communication with clients and management regarding work progress and maintenance needs
  • Rigorously complete technical documentation, including work orders, service history, and warranty information
  • Test and verify live electrical components to confirm the proper functioning of safety and load systems

Requirements:

  • Hold a recognized trade certification or Red Seal qualification, or be currently enrolled in a related provincial apprenticeship program
  • Possess 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in heavy machinery or lifting equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with customers and the technical team
  • Show a proven ability in analysis and resolution of complex mechanical and hydraulic problems
  • Master occupational health and safety principles and commit to maintaining a risk-free work environment
  • Have an exceptional sense of customer service and the will to maintain a constant professional image with clients

  • Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Able to diagnose, evaluate, and repair mast and attachment components
  • Working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes
  • Ability to work on propane, gas, and diesel systems
  • Replace broken or defective parts and order replacement parts for major repairs
  • Re-assemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments
  • Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to work floor
  • Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations
