Job Description:

The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing powered industrial trucks, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks used in CVS Distribution Centers. This role ensures all material-handling equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OSHA standards to support uninterrupted warehouse operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on all powered industrial equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, making necessary repairs to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system
  • Troubleshoot battery charging systems, drive motors, brakes, lift mechanisms, and control systems
  • Replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment when necessary
  • Adhere to safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols during all maintenance activities
  • Order and track parts inventory as needed to complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Provide input on equipment condition and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements
  • Support operational teams by responding to urgent repair requests to minimize equipment downtime
  • Participate in safety training and comply with all CVS Health safety and quality standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • technical certification in mechanics or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in forklift or heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards
