Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to become our Sustainability & Forestry Safety Coordinator. The successful candidate will work with staff on a company-wide basis to manage Company sustainability certifications and coordinate an effective Forestry Department Safety Program.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage certification programs and ensure compliance with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management, Fiber Sourcing and Chain of Custody, as well as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody standards
  • Manage and coordinate a successful safety program for our Forestry team
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate effectiveness of sustainability and safety initiatives, programs, and projects
  • Effectively collaborate with various departments to integrate best sustainability and safety practices
  • Conduct sustainability and safety assessments and audits
  • Organize and coordinate related projects, events, and activities
  • Stay updated on latest sustainability and safety trends and best practices and provide engaging training
  • Advocate for sustainability while developing solid partnerships

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Forestry or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sustainability-related role
  • Demonstrated understanding of environmental issues, sustainable practices and safety programs
  • Excellent project management and data analysis skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in written communication skills and attention to details
  • Extensive travel required at times
