Job Responsibility

Safely conduct field and office activities related to forest Planning, including block design and reconnaissance

Managing and completing all activities associated with Cutting Permit and Road Permit Acquisitions, including Appraisals, Site Plans, Engineered Cost Estimates, etc

Ensure the delivery of high-quality field layout and data while meeting business plan requirements
Conduct activities consistent with the Canfor Operating System
Prepare budgets and manage costs within your specific responsibilities

Plan and coordinate chipping operations with the Production Manager to meet production requirements
Apply First In, First Out (FIFO) practices to manage material flow and maintain fiber quality
Maintain inventory of knives, parts, and other consumables required for equipment operation
Perform routine housekeeping and ensure work areas and equipment remain clean and organized
Support Maintenance Department activities, including large-scale repairs or improvement projects, as needed
Identify and report safety incidents, equipment issues, or process deviations promptly
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges
