Job Responsibility

  • Leverage modern technology for on-the-ground forestry applications
  • Collaborate with internal, agency, and contract technical specialists to perform data queries and analysis using GIS
  • Manage essential files and reports related to the Company’s Stewardship Agreement with USFS
  • Effectively and accurately generate maps and resource reports
  • Install, troubleshoot, and manage various forestry-related programs and software
  • Maintain and update critical GIS map files and associated data in relational databases
  • Accurately read, analyze, and interpret maps and aerial photography

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Forestry, GIS, or Natural Resources
  • Demonstrated experience using ArcGIS Pro and GIS systems
  • Working knowledge of forest practices
  • Demonstrated capability installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer programs and software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with standard data collection tools such as iPads and GPS and file sharing/data management apps
  • Valid California driver’s license, or ability to obtain upon acceptance of job offer
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, ability to work as a team member in a crew environment
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with superior attention to detail
