Our trusted client is seeking are an experienced Forensic Accountant Consultant for a long-term engagement. In this long-term position, you will utilize your expertise to investigate and resolve complex financial discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all reporting. This position offers the opportunity to provide valuable insights and recommendations on financial processes while delivering detailed analyses and documentation. This fully onsite role is located in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Responsibility:

  • Investigate and analyze financial discrepancies, ensuring they are accurately resolved and documented
  • Perform account reconciliations, including payables, remittances, and general ledger accounts
  • Develop comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations based on forensic analysis
  • Examine financial records and transactions to identify inconsistencies or potential fraud
  • Provide feedback on improving financial policies and procedures, adding value to overall processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper communication and documentation of account activities
  • Trace financial trails and provide clear explanations for all reconciliations
  • Conduct detailed analyses of credit card charges and ledger balance sheet accounts
  • Deliver thorough and functional narratives that clearly outline uncovered issues and resolutions

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic accounting or a related field
  • Proficient in forensic analysis and investigative techniques within financial institutions
  • Strong knowledge of account reconciliation, including general ledger accounts and remittances
  • Experience analyzing credit card charges and balance sheet accounts
  • Ability to craft detailed and thorough reports and narratives
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams and presenting findings
  • Familiarity with financial policies and procedures, with the ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage complex financial investigations effectively
