Job Description

Reporting to the Customer Service Delivery Manager, General Manager or Division Manager, the Toilet Foreman is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Toilet Division in the depot. This role involves supporting the team to achieve Operational Excellence and consistently meet or exceed customer service levels.

Job Responsibility

  • Day to day supervision of the team in the division, distributing work equitably and efficiently
  • Inspecting all toilets going out on hire to ensure they meet the necessary standards of cleanliness and appearance, ensuring service check sheets are completed and maintained
  • Carrying out any of the tasks which would normally be assigned to the toilet division team as necessary to ensure hire commitments / service standards are met
  • Assisting or advising the team on any aspect of their work they are unsure of
  • Ensuring all toilets returned from hire are carefully inspected to ensure all damage is recorded
  • Ensuring there is adequate staff resource in place to meet the company’s objectives at all times, taking into consideration holiday, overtime requirements and staff sickness. Recording and reporting absences
  • Ensuring all delivery / collection / exchange paperwork is correctly completed
  • Raising requisitions for consumables and other items for the division including parts to repair damaged toilets
  • Ensuring toilet division drivers carry out daily checks on their vehicles and lifting / holding equipment including straps and chains and report any defects
  • Ensuring new toilets are checked before being booked into fleet and records of such checks are maintained
  • Ensuring the toilet areas are maintained and secured at all times, ensuring the works office and yard areas are maintained in tidy, clean and hazard free condition
  • Ensuring the team are adequately trained in order to operate efficiently, effectively, safely and professionally. Assisting in carrying out staff appraisals. Reporting training needs and requesting training via Training Department

  • When required delivering toilets to customers, collecting toilets at the end of the hire and in the interim carrying out regular servicing and cleaning of those toilets
  • Inspecting all toilets on collection to ensure they are in good order, recording all visible damage, excessive dirtiness, missing items etc.
  • Ensuring all necessary company paperwork is completed in the correct manner to avoid disputes at a later date i.e. signatures obtained for time of delivery / collection, damage sustained or missing plant
  • Ensuring toilet service books are completed and filed
  • Driving company vehicles in a safe, courteous and responsible manner, including operating within the necessary transport regulations with regard to driving hours and operating tachograph (where necessary) according to Ministry of Transport requirements
  • Operating all lifting equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with all Company Safety Directives and method statements
  • Loading and unloading toilets in accordance with safe practice, the Company's Safety Directives and Method Statements
  • Ensuring axle weights are not exceeded
  • Carrying out daily checks of vehicle and any lifting / holding equipment (including straps and chains), recording any defects and reporting them to the Foreman / Toilet Manager.
