We are looking for a skilled Litigation Attorney with expertise in foreclosure and real estate litigation to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of foreclosure and real estate litigation cases, including title disputes and curative actions
  • Represent clients in court for hearings, motion arguments, and other legal proceedings
  • Develop effective case strategies and prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
  • Review and analyze loan files, title reports, and other legal documentation to support case objectives
  • Conduct settlement negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients to provide updates and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive case preparation and effective representation
  • Stay current with relevant laws and regulations, including the Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure process and Supreme Court Rules
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to entry-level staff, fostering growth within the team
  • Handle administrative tasks related to case management, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active license in good standing in Illinois
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in litigation, particularly in mortgage foreclosure, creditor rights, or real estate/civil litigation
  • Strong knowledge of Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure procedures, Illinois Code of Civil Procedure, and Supreme Court Rules
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously
  • Client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis tools to support case preparation and strategy
