The Forecast Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate, consistent, and well-supported sales forecasts for assigned regions/sub-regions. Operating from the Penang hub, this role validates regional forecast submissions by reviewing Salesforce pipeline data alongside supplemental data sources and regional inputs. The Forecast Specialist serves as a key control point in the shipment forecast process, ensuring adherence to forecasting standards, identifying risks and variances, and providing clear, data-driven insights to regional leadership and executive stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Validate regional forecast submissions against established BMO forecasting standards and timelines
Review pipeline-based forecasts using Salesforce opportunity data
Analyze supplemental data sources including: Historical performance trends
Consumption, POS, and rebate claim data
Qualitative input from GAMs and regional leaders
Identify forecast gaps, risks, and inconsistencies
Enforce forecast methodology, definitions, and submission discipline
Ensure forecast categories, assumptions, and supporting data are consistently applied
Challenge unsupported assumptions using factual, data-driven analysis
Escalate material risks and variances in accordance with RBO governance guidelines
Validate supporting documentation confirms shipment as forecasted ahead of any required leadership approvals
Produce standardized forecast reports, summaries, and variance analysis
Track forecast accuracy, bias, and volatility over time
Provide clear commentary on forecast movements, risks, and key drivers
Support forecast review meetings and executive readouts
Partner closely with SFDC Data Quality Specialists to ensure upstream data integrity
Collaborate with Revenue Management team on material forecasts at End Customer requiring supply support
Work with regional sales leadership to clarify assumptions and resolve forecast issues
Align with the Penang COE Site Lead on analytical standards and delivery best practices
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in forecasting, sales operations, financial analysis, or a related function
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with Salesforce or comparable CRM systems
Ability to communicate complex data clearly to stakeholders
Experience supporting regional or global sales organizations
Strong Excel and reporting skills
familiarity with BI tools preferred
Experience operating in a shared services or COE environment
Detail-oriented and disciplined in data review
Comfortable challenging data and assumptions while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
Able to operate effectively in a matrixed organization
Consistently apply governance and standards under time pressure
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Analytics, Business, or a related field
