Job Description
This Category Executive role is a primarily externally facing position that requires the individual to establish strong, credible and trusted relationships with our UK retailer customers to deliver sustainable long-term category growth. You will support the Category Manager in the development of joint category plans and strategies that offer objective and unbiased category insight to deliver mutual growth for our retailers and for Unilever – all of which centred around the shopper. Internally, the Category Executive will be expected to coordinate with internal teams to provide timely market and shopper-led insight – ensuring Unilever’s plans are best set to deliver a triple win in offering strong category value. A successful candidate will be highly analytical; turning raw data into refined customer and shopper narratives that informs and influences retailers’ range, assortment and merchandising plans. The individual will provide clear and actionable category recommendations to see high quality execution and subsequent performance.
Job Responsibility
Build collaborative and independent relationships with key retailer stakeholders (buyers, merchandisers/category planners) to become a trusted partner
Provide robust analysis and interpretation of multiple customer and shopper data sources to generate actionable insights across category risks and opportunities
Deliver Category range review recommendations that focus on the optimal assortment and merchandising
supported by clear insight and rationale across priority customers
Production of key category/customer reporting and ad-hoc analysis to support decision making as required
Contribution of market insight internally across key stakeholders and functions to build a strong network and deliver optimum plans
