Job Responsibility:
Sets up, serves and cleans up food service area
Prepares orders such as soda fountain dishes, desserts, etc., as directed
Maintains prescribed standards of sanitation, housekeeping and safety in assigned work area
Sets up food for serving
Cleans utensils and equipment before, during and after serving
Checks completed tray before delivery to patients
Performs limited food preparation or final processing of simple salads, desserts, vegetables, etc.
Sets up, maintains and cleans beverage containers including coffee, iced tea, hot chocolate, cream, juice and ice dispensers, and related equipment
Sets up condiment areas, salad, dessert and hot food counters
Stores condiments and left-overs in a sanitary manner
Checks need for replacement of deleted or shortage of items and notifies proper personnel
Washes and sanitizes dining room tables and chairs
Cleans ash trays and maintains adequate supply of salt and pepper shakers
Sets up patient trays
Pulls and/or pushes food transporters as necessary in assigned work area
Maintains proper housekeeping, sanitation and safety standards in work area
Reports defective equipment to the immediate supervisor
May occasionally act as fill-in cashier, handling cash and making change
May perform other food service duties as required
Requirements:
Ability to read and write English
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
