Reporting to the General Manager, the Food Service Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily foodservice operation in a business dining account. The Food Service Director will be responsible for the profitable management of the services under contract with the Client with a hands-on approach. The role is responsible for providing vision to grow the business while maintaining current operations. Responsibilities include interaction with the client, customers and employees as well as various Support Departments of Aramark. This is for a high security government facility. Top Secret Security Clearance is required. All applicants that already have this level of security would be able to begin working within a short period of time. Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen who has resided within Canada for the past 10 years.
Job Responsibility:
Oversight and direct management of the location
Train, develop and mentor the team and establish succession plans
Provides direction to the Management team in managing the business
Provides direction on progressive discipline, labour relations, employee relations, hiring, performance review and pay increases of staff
Works in conjunction with culinary team regarding culinary requirements for appropriate food handling, preparation and sanitation in respective areas
Ensures all operating standards are achieved
Ensures internal promotions are executed in each location
Establishes and maintains procedures for purchasing, receiving and storage
Management of departments regarding merchandising, cost control, labour scheduling, staffing and training
Prepares business plans, budgets and forecasts
Monitors financial operating results in order to achieve company and client objectives
Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting for all business sectors
Develops new initiatives and programs to improve sales and customer satisfaction
Maintains required records to comply with Aramark and government standards
Ensure compliance with Human Resources Programs
Ensure adherence to Aramark’s policies and procedures
Ensure adherence to Aramark’s Health and Safety Programs
Supports execution of Aramark Food Management and Labour Management Systems
Requirements:
Must be a Canadian Citizen residing within Canada for the past 10 years
Ability to obtain a federal government Top Security Clearance prior to start date
5+ years in the Hospitality industry in a management capacity a requirement
College Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field
Previous management experience in franchise operations an asset
Experience with food and labour costing
Exceptional motivational and coaching skills
Assertive, professional and positive with ability to lead in a stressful environment
Proven ability to multitask
Strong analytical, project planning and financial management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, colleagues and staff
