Job Description

Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Food Service Assistant to join our team working at HMP Erlestoke Devizes UK. Job Responsibility

  • Cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines
  • Adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures
  • Safely handling knives and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers
  • Providing high levels of service of food and/or beverages to customers
  • Supervising the prisoners in the area producing the meals and delivering table service
  • Performing cleaning and replenishment duties
  • Ensuring service area and/or service points are clean and stocked up
  • Food assembly and service of same in an efficient manner, which may include some light cooking
  • Monitoring and recording food and equipment temperatures
  • Handling cash transactions and ensuring the accurate cash handling procedures are followed
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and as part of a team

Requirements

  • Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years
  • Must have legal right to work
  • Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks
  • Ideally, previous experience within a catering environment
  • Must acquire basic food hygiene qualification within first six months of employment
  • Good understanding of written and spoken English
  • Customer service experience
  • Good timekeeping
  • Must be over 18
