The successful candidates will conduct research, analyse policy frameworks, and support decision-making processes at local, national, and EU levels. They will contribute to advancing knowledge on climate change impacts and adaptation, with a particular focus on food security, health, and related policy strategies. They will play an active role in the Institute’s broader work on environmental economics, climate adaptation, and climate governance—developing research, evaluating policy options, and engaging with stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Developing research on the effects of climate change on food and nutritional security in Europe using a data-driven approach
Assisting in the development and leveraging of research findings and stakeholder input to inform evidence-based decision-making on climate change adaptation on health
Preparing reports, briefings, and presentations to communicate research findings and policy analyses to policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
PhD in Applied Economics, or International Development, or other related social science subjects, including human health, development, environmental policy, or equivalent subjects
For the food security expert: Minimum of 25 years of professional experience working on climate change and food security
For the food security expert: Publication of relevant food security related indicators
For the climate adaptation/health experts: Minimum of 3 years of work experience on health systems and policies
Very good knowledge of the English language
Accuracy and good analytical skills
