The Food Safety Technologist is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and all systems linked to food safety, quality, and compliance. This role works closely with the Technical team, Operations, and Commercial departments to ensure that Mindful Chef consistently meets the highest standards in food safety and supplier performance.
Job Responsibility:
Support the investigation and processing of customer complaints and generate trend reports
Compiling KPI reports to generate analytical insights
Maintain performance trackers for suppliers, working with Category Technical Managers to identify and address gaps
Maintain all accreditation and visit schedules for suppliers in collaboration with Category Technologists
Support achievement and retention of externally awarded accreditations
Conduct site audits of the Manage the site Quality Management System (QMS) and Conduct site internal audits
Assess goods at delivery and throughout processing to ensure compliance with food safety standards
Maintain the business document control system, ensuring timely review and update of all documents relevant to food safety and quality
Generate and distribute KPIs linked to site standards and supplier performance
Interpret statistical data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Support the Technical team with report writing
Interact with key stakeholders across all categories of the business
Raise awareness and understanding of food industry best practices across the business
Support the development of an outstanding food safety and quality culture
Provide administrative support to the Technical team as required
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Food safety qualification (Level 3 or higher) and internal auditor qualification desirable
Experience in a relevant technical or food safety role
Strong organisational skills and time management
Experience with KPI reporting, statistical analysis, and document control
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong influencing skills and an ability to drive change
