The Food Runner is responsible for working with Stand Workers and kitchen staff in concession stands to deliver food and beverage orders from stand to guest at all events.
Job Responsibility:
Shows initiative and approaches all tasks with a “can-do” attitude
Cleans and maintains concession areas
Helps set up and break down stand at beginning and end of night
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance
Keeps the BOH workspace clean and in order
Sets up BOH areas each day to the venue
Closes FOH/BOH areas each day to the venue
Runs food to the correct tables and boxed seat locations
Ensures all food and beverage meet quality standards
Possesses knowledge of the food and drink menu and provide detailed descriptions of delivered food products
Ensures stock rotation of perishables – sauces/condiments in BOH areas
Responsible for organization of stock around the expediter in BOH areas
Provides outstanding customer service to enhance guests’ experience
Performs other duties as assigned by Management
Shows flexibility by rotating to other service locations when necessary
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to read, speak and write English in order to communicate with staff and guests
Ability to work all venue events and maintain a flexible schedule to meet service demand levels, including extended hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditions
Must be punctual and dependable
Must maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance in accordance with company and venue standards
Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant standing, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette preferred
Ability to effectively listen and take direction from management
Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services
Nice to have:
SERVSafe and City of Philadelphia Food Safety Personnel Certificate a plus
