The Food Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire food production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement production schedules, considering resource availability, demand, and deadlines
  • Establish and enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations (like HACCP and GMP) and quality control standards throughout the production process
  • Lead, train, and supervise production staff, fostering teamwork and ensuring adherence to procedures and regulations
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
  • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring timely ordering and minimizing storage costs
  • Ensure proper maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operational performance
  • Develop and manage production budgets, control costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Liaise with other departments, such as quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and marketing, to ensure smooth operations and alignment with company goals and customer requirements
  • Address and resolve production-related issues promptly and efficiently to minimize disruptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
  • Associate's degree diploma with extensive experience accepted
  • Proven experience in food production management or a similar role with a minimum of 5 years
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP), quality control standards, and production methodologies
  • Proficiency in using production management software and data analysis tools
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Adaptability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ServSafe, SQF, or NYC food safety certificate required.
