Job Description:

As a Food Production Labourer in our meat production facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our production processes. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to meat processing, packaging, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. This position is essential to our commitment to producing top-notch cooked and cured meat products for our customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Meat Processing: Assist in the processing of meat products, which may include cutting, trimming, and portioning
  • Packaging: Safely and accurately package meat products according to company standards
  • Quality Control: Monitor product quality and report any deviations from quality standards to supervisors
  • Sanitation: Maintain a clean and hygienic work area by following food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Equipment Operation: Operate machinery and equipment as necessary, following safety guidelines
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure a smooth production process
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines. As well as ability to read product specifications based on customer demands
  • Adaptability: Be willing to cross-train and perform various tasks as needed
  • Compliance: Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a food production or meat processing environment is an asset but not required
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to work in a fast-paced & physically demanding environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required
  • Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary

Nice to have:

Valid First Aid and/or Valid Forklift Certificates are assets
