Job Description

An influential Food, Health & Safety Manager to drive safety excellence across London, the South and surrounding regions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on improving systems, coaching operational teams, and embedding a forward‑thinking safety culture. You will act as a trusted partner to operations, helping teams simplify safety, enhance standards, and exceed both legislative and company requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Champion a positive, proactive Food, Health & Safety culture, providing expert guidance, coaching, and mentoring to managers, chefs and operational teams
  • Drive consistent implementation of Food, Health & Safety policies, procedures, training, and safety initiatives across all locations
  • Lead and support investigations into accidents, allergen incidents, and alleged food poisoning cases, identifying root causes and ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions are implemented
  • Analyse and report on safety performance data, identifying trends, assessing performance, and working with teams to reduce recurrences, escalating emerging risks
  • Conduct regular location visits, offering constructive feedback, identifying emerging risks, and promoting best practice
  • Ensure timely closure of accident, audit and EHO action plans across all locations
  • Support new mobilisations to ensure safety processes are embedded from day one
  • Manage the digital safety management system, ensuring it is fully embedded into location processes and that teams are appropriately trained and confident in its use
  • Monitor system usage to ensure safety performance is accurately captured, reported, and that prompt action is taken to address non-compliance or identified risks
  • Maintain and develop engaging Food, Health & Safety training programmes for all team members
  • Ensure all teams complete mandatory Food Safety, Health & Safety, and allergen training, with records maintained
  • Prepare high-quality presentations and confidently present at internal and external meetings
  • Collaborate with the wider Food, Health & Safety team to review and develop safety documentation, training materials, projects, and initiatives

Requirements

  • Level 4 Food Safety
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management and health & safety legislation
  • Experience conducting investigations, audits, and delivering coaching
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the confidence to challenge and guide senior stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience within hospitality, contract catering or local authority
  • Experience supporting multi‑site operations

Nice to have

  • BSc or MSc in Environmental Health
  • Membership of IOSH, CIEH or IIRSM

  • Assure highest levels of Customer Service and Quality Control for all supported locations
  • Maintain working relationship with local and regional compliance and regulatory authorities (Local / Health, CMS, The Joint Commission, etc.)
  • Ensure the location has the current Aramark safety standards and procedure documentation in place
  • Verify the implementation and execution of Aramark safety standards and procedures
