Job Description:

The Food Hall Attendant is responsible for engaging with guests and assisting by ringing up orders quickly and accurately, utilizing your menu knowledge to help enhance the guest experience, helping customers with questions or requests along with other duties assigned. You will be required to operate the Point of Sale System, provide clear and consistent communication with the kitchen and maintain the dining room The Food Hall Attendant will assist guests on the floor, providing them with necessary items to ensure their experience is of the utmost caliber, assisting guests with any questions or directional assistance, and engaging in pleasant conversation while ensuring Harbor Yards remains clean, organized, and presentable for all guests during their dining experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Warmly greets, acknowledges, and takes guests drink and food order within 30 seconds of them entering the concept, offering recommendations to complement their order
  • Confirm order and modifications with the guests prior to processing the payment (uses guests name after obtained)
  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the many concepts, menu, and products within Harbor Yards
  • Memorize product locations throughout each outlet and be able to direct customers or make suggestions
  • Sets up Grab and Go sections
  • Responsible for maintaining stock- all shelves are stocked, pantry is stocked and prepared for each shift
  • Receives and visually inspects guest check for any inaccuracies, then closes the check to the proper method of payment, (i.e. credit/debit card or house/room charge)
  • Performs opening and closing side work duties as assigned by supervisor and weekly cleaning duties
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
  • Assist with new team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and helping as needed
  • Support other areas of Harbor Yards as requested, such as answering telephones, stock work, cleanup, and paperwork
  • Monitor dining areas to ensure cleanliness of tables, chairs, floor, and other guest-facing areas of the operation
  • Restock general areas for guests including condiment and silverware, waste receptacles, soiled plateware and other dining-related equipment used by guests
  • Ensure storefronts are presentable, sanitary, and organized for guest interaction
  • Actively participate in the food safety programs, including proper cleaning and sanitation of assigned location and keeping accurate food safety logs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment that is free of safety hazards. Duties may include, but are not limited to removing trash, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning dishes
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Prior Food and Beverage experience is preferred
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
  • Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Maintain a professional company image by adhering to all grooming and uniform guidelines, including slip resistant shoes
  • Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively, in English
  • Strong self-motivation, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations
  • Proficiency required in reading, writing, and mathematics, in English
