The Westin Grand Cayman Resort and Spa is now looking for a keen, enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Food and Beverage Server for its award winning 4 Diamond Beach House Restaurant with a real flair and passion for service by providing customers with a memorable experience.
Job Responsibility:
Preparing dining room for dinner operation
Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving food and drinks, assessing customer needs and preferences and making recommendations
Be able answer food preparation questions
Transmitting orders to bar and kitchen by POS system
Keeping kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
Collaborating with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
Issuing bills and accept payment
Service and perform up to the standards of service by the Westin Grand Cayman
Reporting to the Restaurant Supervisor and Food and Beverage Manager
Other duties may be assigned based on operational needs.
Requirements:
2+ years of server experience in a fine dining establishment required
Must have Strong knowledge of wines and cocktails, food and beverage pairings (Sommelier degree is an advantage)
Operational knowledge of a Point of Sales System (MICROS) and reservation system required
Excellent upselling skills
Exceptional attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
Knowledge of a second language will be considered a plus
Must be able to handle working in a fast-paced restaurant whilst multitasking effectively
Must possess excellent capability of anticipating guests needs and fulfilling them appropriately
Ensure all guests receive the highest levels of service at all times
Be attentive and proactive with the ability to respond quickly to needs of the guests
Be a clear and concise communicator
Minimum High School Diploma required
Must be able to work late evenings, weekends and public holidays
Nice to have:
Sommelier degree
Knowledge of a second language
