Job Description

The Django Jazz Club and Restaurant at The Roxy Hotel seeks a Food and Beverage Floor Manager. Descending into The Django you’ll feel like you’ve entered another world. Located in The Roxy Hotel this subterranean jazz club, with its vaulted ceilings and exposed brick walls, was modeled after the boîtes of Paris. The venue consists of two cocktail bars, open dining space and a stage for live performances. The Django offers crafted cocktails and dinner plates, all partnered with a brilliant entertainment lineup. We employ a close-knit group of natural-born entertainers, supreme go-getters and masters of hospitality. All that and we haven’t even gotten to the benefits package yet. The Django is looking for a Floor Manager to manage the both floor and bar service. You’ll be working the floor a lot, which also has a rock star perk: each night, you’ll hear live jazz from some of the industry greats.

Job Responsibility

  • Floor presence, ensuring service standards are consistent
  • Training and evaluating team members in their roles
  • Conducting effective pre-shifts
  • Building strong rapport with guests

Requirements

  • Energetic and detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work evenings shifts and weekends
  • Must have working knowledge of Resy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of Excel and Word are required
  • Able to work effectively with all department managers
  • An interest in style, music, fashion, art, and/or or dining and nightlife (pertaining to NYC)
  • Creative problem solver

  • Enforcing standards of service on all levels and work on maintaining and improving them with all staff including appearance where necessary
  • Responsible in training and onboarding new team members. Help with their development to improve their skills and confidence on the floor
  • Monitor team member performance in all phases of job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards
  • rectify any deficiencies, handle disciplinary problems and counsel team members with the Director of Food & Beverage according to company standards with the support of Casting & Culture
