Job Description:

Food and Beverage Counter Service Attendant position at Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, responsible for complete counter service operations including setup, order taking, payment processing, food and beverage preparation, and maintaining cleanliness standards.

Job Responsibility:

Complete opening and closing duties
Set up and maintain cleanliness of counter, tables, and tools
Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies
Transport supplies to beverage set-up area
Wash soiled glassware
Remove soiled wares from counter and tables
Input orders into cash register system and collect payment
Take orders and record in MICROS system
Issue, open, and dispense wine/beer bottles
Prepare food and coffee beverages
Present orders to guests in timely manner
Ensure appliances are turned on/off at appropriate times
Bus counter areas and tables
Maintain cleanliness of work areas
Wash dishes, utensils, tables and equipment
Obtain change required for business level
Count bank at end of shift
Complete cashier reports
Secure beers, wines, coolers, and storage areas

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
No related work experience
No supervisory experience
No license or certification required
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
Ability to reach overhead and below the knees
Ability to read and visually verify information
Ability to visually inspect tools and equipment
