Job Description

Bring your passion for food and beverage service to Brisbane's most prestigious and largest conferencing and events operations. We are seeking motivated and energetic individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional service at a range of high-end conferences and exclusive events hosted at our world-class venue.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to guests during conferences and events
  • Work with your team to set conference rooms promptly and accurately to the specifications described on the function sheets
  • Ensure client expectations are met, delivering food and beverage service that exudes luxury and aligns with Sofitel brand standards
  • Take responsibility for your designated rooms or sections during service
  • Ensure all food and beverages requirements are delivered on time and as specified
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all service areas
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure smooth event execution
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and courteously
  • Adhere to all food safety and responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • Participate in pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a conference or events setting
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Teamwork-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification (required)
  • Food Safety Certification (preferred)
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry practices is a plus
