Role Overview: As a Fluid Power Technician at JRAutomation, you will assemble, install, and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems for custom automation equipment. Working from schematics and customer specifications, you’ll ensure quality, safety, and performance while collaborating with project teams to resolve issues and meet timelines. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex custom automation builds, with up to 25% travel.

Job Responsibility

  • Assembly of the equipment according to approved design and customer specifications.
  • Ensure that changes and problems get documented and communicated.
  • Carry out assigned tasks with minimum direct supervision.
  • Assist with the execution of ISO\Quality Standards.
  • Communicate with the project team on open issues and progress during the building process.
  • Assist with the successful execution of assigned programs as they relate to cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.
  • Effectively and safely: Trouble shoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits. Install piping and hoses. Read blueprints, identify fittings, and have basic symbol knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of fluid power experience. Equivalent experience is calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study.
  • Related vocational education preferred.
  • Journeyman's card preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel navigation.
  • Proficiency in schematic interpretation, pipe threading, fitting identification, and fluid power symbols.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a safety- and quality-focused mindset.
  • Ability to maintain a steady work pace, including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and maneuvering around machinery.
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry, is strongly preferred.
  • Travel required up to 25% including overnight and international.
