Floor care technicians are generally responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet ( dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction and bonneting) of areas thet include offices, residents rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms.
Job Responsibility:
Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions
Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas to ensure that quality standards, saftey guidelines and customer service expectations are met
The floor technician is responsible for satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedulw
Reports equipment/ cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion
Is responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all saftey precautions
The floor care technician is responsible for collecting trash/ recycling/ laundry in an outside/ soiled linen from units and for the proper disposal of trash/ recycling/ laundry in an outside/ soiled linen barrel container
Requirements:
The ability to read, write, and speak english is essential
No formal education is required. A high school diploma is desirable
The ability to provide and follow oral, written,and verbal instructions is vital
The ability to work in a healthcare environment and conduct themselves professionally and appropriately as required
High School graduate or equivalent education is preferred
Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to operate equipment
Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
Ability to read and understand work assignments
Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency
Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members
