Floor technician

• Overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet ( dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction and bonneting) of areas that include offices, residents rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms.
• Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions.
• Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas to ensure that quality standards, saftey guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
• Satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule.
• Reports equipment/ cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion
• Responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all saftey precautions.
• Responsible for collecting trash/ recycling/ laundry in an outside/ soiled linen from units and for the proper disposal of trash/ recycling/ laundry in an outside/ soiled linen barrel container.
• Work involves pulling and pushing, carrying weight up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending and reaching from floor to waist height and from waist to above head.
• Stands and walks continuously throughout the work day.
• Reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and manipulated various supplies and equipment.
• Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents.

• The ability to read, write, and speak english is essential
• No formal education is required. A high school diploma is desirable.
• The ability to provide and follow oral, written,and verbal instructions is vital.
• The ability to work in a healthcare environment and conduct themselves professionally and appropriately as required.
• High School graduate or equivalent education is preferred
• Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to operate equipment.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to read and understand work assignments.
• Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency.
• Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.
• Must be free from infection or disease.
• Must be able to lift and or carry 50 to 75 pounds.
