Job Responsibility:

  • Work directly with assigned contract producers to improve company profitability and competitive position by implementing production programs and documenting producer compliance at each visit to the farm
  • Maintain assigned route square footage to meet demands established by sales
  • Maintain route compliance with poultry welfare, food safety and environmental Best Management Practices
  • Monitor chick placements, bird weights, flock movements, mortality and feed inventories
  • Assess bird health, administer field vaccinations, prescribe treatment and perform testing on birds
  • Support other departments by maintaining open lines of communication
  • Comply with biosecurity, food safety and poultry welfare programs
  • Operate company vehicle safely
  • Monitor day-to-day work of contracted construction crews
  • Coordinate with producers, vendors and subcontractors
  • Work with prospective farmers on laying out construction and renovation of poultry houses
  • Purchase and transport local materials and equipment
  • Provide estimates of remodeled construction cost of existing poultry facilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science or Agribusiness Management or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no points
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong reading, math, writing communication skills (oral and written), analytical skills and a statistical background.
