Job Description:

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Austin, TX. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday hours will vary based on coverage needs between 7:00am to 7:00pm (overtime and rotating weekends may be required as needed). As a Float Phlebotomist, you will have the opportunity to quickly gain a vast amount of experience. You will be working with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations. This unique role will allow you to develop your skills and set you up for opportunities and continuous growth within the organization. If you like variety, this role is perfect for you!

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to various clinic sites

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
  • 1 or more years' experience assisting all patient age groups (pediatric - geriatric)
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience
  • Will cover sites in Austin, TX and surrounding areas (75+ miles)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be 21 years of age or older and have a clean driving record
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills
  • both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
