ChristianaCare is looking to hire a Full-Time Float Medical Assistant to support the School Based Health Centers. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients and will deliver quality patient care for our students within the DE school district. The Medical Assistant will collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team of Behavioral Health Therapists, Registered Dieticians, Nurse Practitioners, Office Assistants as well as Operational leaders. Flexibility to cross cover high schools and/or elementary schools in Newcastle and Kent Counties, required. Cross coverages are based on the department's needs.
Job Responsibility:
Provides the clinical care necessary within the department, including routine, special needs and emergency
Maintains appropriate student health records and documents services rendered
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age
Complies with HIPAA regulations while accessing patient information
Verifies necessary student/patient forms for provisions of School Based Health Center services
Prepares patients for clinical visits by opening encounters and recording patient vitals
Performs point of care testing, vaccinations, medication administration as per practice needs
Assist clinician with examinations/procedures
chaperoning as needed
Requirements:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, is preferred
