The Boeing Company is looking for Flight Test Engineers to join our team in Seattle, WA. We’re looking for engineers who can function in a dynamic and exciting flight test environment. Our engineers plan and complete testing of Boeing commercial and military derivative aircraft to assure product safety, performance, and regulatory certification. Our engineers lead extensive test program efforts from creation of requirements through flight execution and reporting. We perform functions including test planning, defining instrumentation requirements, configuration control, test conduct, as well as data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment with changing requirements. A strong ability to manage multiple work packages at the same time is essential for success. This position will operate primarily at Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington. Travel will be required, sometimes with short notice. There will be assignments that require occasional testing at local, regional, domestic, and international sites for several days up to several months at a time. This requisition is for the Stability and Control (S&C) group in Flight Test Analysis. Our team tests and verifies that the handling characteristics of the aircraft are safe and meet certification requirements. Flight Test engineers in S&C will be required to ride in a designated area of the test aircraft during testing while monitoring on-board data. S&C tests require the aircraft to be piloted to unusual attitudes and operate near the edge of the operating envelope, which can be uncomfortable for participants. Candidates must be physically able to endure -1G to +2.5G maneuvers and operations with uncoordinated or abrupt control inputs including stalls, sideslips, wind-up turns, and other maneuvers. Selected candidates will be required to be medically qualified as a non-flight crewmember post-start.
