As a Aircraft Anemometry & Clinometry Test Specialist, you will be a key contributor to the flight test campaigns of Airbus aircraft, focusing on the precise measurement and analysis of airspeed, angle of attack, angle of sideslip, and aircraft attitude. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of flight test data, directly impacting aircraft development, certification, and performance optimization. You will join the Flight Mechanics Team within the Flight & Integration Test Centre organization : the team is responsible for preparing and analyzing flight tests related to Flight Physics disciplines: aircraft Performance, Anemometry and Handling Qualities.
Job Responsibility:
Analyse and optimize test requirements coming from Design Office, Programs and Flight Test teams
Define and validate the appropriate FT instrumentation, as well as analysis tools
Follow-up the FT in real time, through the telemetry center, providing the necessary support to the crew to ensure the validity and safety of the test
Troubleshoot instrumentation anomalies and provide immediate support to flight test crews
Participate in pre-flight briefings and post-flight debriefings
Perform in-depth post-flight analysis of anemometry and clinometry data, including data validation, correction, and interpretation
Calibrate the aerodynamic A/C model based on FT data. Discuss proactively with the numerous model users (Aerodynamics, Flight mechanics, A/C Performance, A/C Loads teams….) to take into account their needs and constraints
Elaborate ATA 34 certifications documents in close collaboration with Certification Authorities and Design Office (Aerodynamics and Systems)
Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in anemometry, clinometry, and flight test analysis, proposing and implementing improvements. Contribute to the development of new measurement techniques and sensor technologies
Develop and apply advanced data processing algorithms and tools for anemometry and clinometry
Requirements:
Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in flight test analysis, specifically with a strong focus on anemometry (Pitot-static systems, air data probes, angle of attack/sideslip sensors) and clinometry
Experience with flight test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and data processing software (e.g., Python, specific flight test analysis tools)
Familiarity with aircraft performance and flight mechanics principles
Experience with commercial aircraft development and certification processes is a significant advantage
3-5 years proven experience in flight test analysis or flight physics, specifically with a strong focus on anemometry and clinometry
In-depth knowledge of aerodynamic principles and their application to flight test measurements
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with a strong understanding of statistical methods
Ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation and data acquisition issues
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
Proactive attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
