Job Description

The Flexible Film Technician is responsible for providing engineering expertise and flexible packaging knowledge to develop innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective film solutions while supporting manufacturing, leading projects, and collaborating with suppliers and customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide engineering skills and flexible packaging experience to develop packaging solutions
  • Manage sustainable and commercially viable film development projects aligned to industry trends
  • Develop solutions and conduct trials with blown film extrusion, film lamination, slitting, ABM (BIB) and pouch fabrication techniques to support internal cost and quality improvement objectives
  • Act as a key internal consultant and advisor for all material-related projects and activities across all areas of manufacturing
  • Direct interaction with suppliers, customers, and other industry participants to ensure an understanding of the environment and execution of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Polymer) or Materials Science or related qualification
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in the field of film/foil/laminate development
  • Expertise in film extrusion and lamination structures and their application fields
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into technical film and laminate specifications
  • Keen eye for improvement opportunities and quality issues
  • A flexible, innovative attitude/problem solver.

Nice to have

Knowledge of food science and filling equipment preferred.
