Job Description

Marriott International is one of the largest travel companies, with a portfolio of more than 30 brands across a diverse set of lodging segments—from traditional hotels to cabins in the woods. As the FLEX Sr. Manager, Digital Commercial Strategy & Performance, you will apply a scalable, data-driven approach to diagnose opportunities, shape Digital roadmap priorities, and execute differentiated product strategies across underperforming, emerging, and at-risk segments. You will partner closely with Analytics, Digital Product, UX, Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Continent leadership, and hotel/ownership stakeholders to rally teams around the highest-impact initiatives for each segment.

Job Responsibility

  • Diagnose performance challenges & identify scalable opportunities
  • Partner with the Digital Analytics and Topline Performance teams to identify micro-trends and performance gaps by property/product segment
  • surface root causes and prioritize opportunities that restore commercial health
  • Establish repeatable segment health monitoring (KPIs, early-warning indicators, performance narratives) to proactively identify emerging and at-risk segments before issues scale
  • Translate performance insights into a clear set of “what’s happening / why / what we’ll do” recommendations that can be understood by both Digital and Commercial leaders
  • Build integrated, data-driven recovery plans with commercial partners
  • Partner with hotel leadership/owners, Sales, Marketing, and Revenue leaders to develop integrated Digital performance recovery plans for underperforming segments—aligning demand generation, conversion optimization, and channel strategy into a single plan of record
  • Influence Digital roadmap prioritization & drive execution
  • Advocate cross-functionally to secure prioritization for the highest-impact opportunities
  • Work directly with Digital product squads to translate plans into epics/features, define outcomes, and drive sequencing toward measurable performance improvements
  • Identify where scalable platform capabilities (vs. one-off fixes) can solve common needs across the portfolio
  • Help align Digital Product squads around common commercial outcomes and a unified focus, reducing siloed discussions and turning insights into coordinated execution
  • Serve as Digital’s strategic advisor within Marriott’s Commercial Strategy
  • Present performance narratives, insights, and action plans with clarity, accountability, and commercial credibility
  • establish shared performance goals and track progress over time
  • Build trust through strong stakeholder management and consistent follow-through

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Hospitality, Economics, or related discipline
  • 5+ years experience in digital commerce, digital strategy, performance optimization, or commercial strategy within a matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to diagnose business performance issues and translate findings into prioritized actions that drive outcomes
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills: ability to influence without authority, align stakeholders, and drive decisions amid competing priorities and time constraints
  • Exceptional communication and executive-ready storytelling: comfortable presenting to senior leaders and hotel leadership with clarity and accountability

Nice to have

  • Hospitality, travel, or portfolio experiences—especially across diverse product segments (e.g., midscale, longer stays, outdoor/unique lodging, luxury)
  • Experience building segment-level performance playbooks and scaling repeatable solutions across multiple products, brands, or markets
  • Familiarity with Digital product operating models (Agile/SAFe), and experience partnering with product squads to convert strategy into roadmap delivery
  • Strong working knowledge of digital funnel metrics and experimentation/optimization approaches (e.g., conversion rate optimization, landing page performance, merchandising effectiveness, traffic quality)
  • Champion traffic and conversion optimization while maintaining a high-quality user experience
  • Promote UX best practices drawn from varied industries
  • Communicate through compelling visuals and well-structured deliverables
  • Demonstrate confidence, energy, and enthusiasm in influencing teams
  • Thrive in fast paced environments and excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously
