Job Description

The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of a defined product or product area by owning the squad backlog, translating business and customer needs into well defined features and user stories, and partnering closely with Engineering, Cross Domain teams, and Business stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy within a clearly defined product scope and is accountable for day to day execution, prioritization, and delivery of value aligned to the broader product vision. The Product Owner is a strong practitioner of Agile/SAFe delivery, serves as the voice of the customer for the squad, and ensures work is ready, sequenced, and accepted according to agreed standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and manage the squad backlog, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned to product objectives and business outcomes
  • Translate business requirements, customer needs, and regulatory or operational constraints into well written user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Partner with Engineering, UX, QA, and Architecture to ensure stories are ready for development and delivered to quality standards
  • Actively participate in all squad ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand ups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Review and accept completed stories based on acceptance criteria, testing outcomes, and business intent
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Owners, and cross functional partners to understand priorities, dependencies, and impacts
  • Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Support Program Increment (PI) / Quarterly Planning by contributing features, dependencies, and delivery sequencing

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar Agile delivery role
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and SAFe methodologies, including backlog management and PI planning
  • Demonstrated ability to write high quality user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences
  • Analytical and detail oriented, with a focus on delivering value rather than just output
