Job Description:

Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases of property events. This position primarily handles events of average complexity. Ensures their property events have a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare all event documentation
  • Coordinate with Sales, property departments and customer to ensure high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases
  • Handle events of average complexity
  • Ensure seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales
  • Maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
  • Identify operational challenges and develop solutions
  • Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer
  • Participate in customer site inspections
  • Solicit feedback to enhance the Event Planner’s experience
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Coordinate and communicate event details
  • Follow up with customer post-event
  • Respond to guest problems and complaints
  • Continually improve customer service
  • Obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • Conduct pre- and post-event meetings
  • Facilitate various meetings (Banquet Event Order meeting, block review)
  • Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
  • Up-sell products and services
  • Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results
  • Observe service behaviors and provide feedback
  • Assist in development of corrective action plans
  • Address operational challenges with property staff and customers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in event management or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • at least 1 year experience in event management or related professional area
