Job Description:

The Manager, Topline Analytics focuses on continent portfolio performance management; by enabling organizations with opportunity finding and risk mitigation across all topline areas of sales, marketing, and revenue management. The Manager provides in-depth analytical support on factors impacting performance, new business logic as the environment changes and plays a role in discipline initiatives by participating in the process development, testing, and sharing learnings. This role provides market and business context for the demand trends impacting the portfolio. The manager is forward focused, anticipating potential changes in demand trends and their implications to our sales, marketing, and pricing efforts. The analysis may involve using existing tools, or pulling custom data from various Marriott systems and manipulating it to provide insight that answers key business questions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitors Performance to identify causal factors of successful and unsuccessful performance, recommend strategies to improve, and evaluate likely impact of new strategies
  • Perform investigative analyses to identify risks/opportunities before stakeholders ask about them
  • Assists with preparing key analysis to be utilized in presentations for Board of Directors meetings, Quarterly Analyst Call, US+C Leadership Team meetings
  • provides follow up analysis resulting from Executive leadership meetings and competitor Earnings Releases
  • Responsible for maintaining standardized reporting including developing new versions and error checking/troubleshooting as issues arise
  • Monitors economic, market, and industry indicators for any impact on demand
  • generates and maintains the data model
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as necessary
  • Examine and respond to portfolio concerns as identified by US+C Sr. Leadership
  • Assists with identifying performance gaps of organization and provide strategic and mitigating advice for solution
  • May represent US+C Topline Analytics team in various calls and meetings with stakeholders
  • Performs other duties as needed
  • Update standard report outs and decks as necessary

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in a Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or quantitative discipline (finance, operations research, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, etc.)
  • 3+ years’ experience in the business, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area
  • Strong hotel/ market experience and/or knowledge with a familiarity of Marriott lodging products/ brands/ hotel operations
  • Strong data analysis skills, including querying and manipulation of large quantities of data via SQL using front end applications such as Excel, Tableau or PowerBI
  • Excellent project management skills, with ability to independently manage multiple projects
  • Ability to communicate data specifications, deadlines and project requirements to suppliers clearly and concisely
  • Team player
  • builds strong relationships and collaborates with region and corporate stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure, Excel etc)

  • MBA, advanced degree in a quantitative discipline desired, or three-plus years of directly related work experience
  • Exposure to Python, R, VBA, Power Fx, or other programming languages
  • Familiarity with statistical models
