Job Description:

This is a temporary position for a leave of absence coverage. Marriott International is seeking a strategic and collaborative Director, Global Select & Midscale Brands, to drive the growth and success of assigned brands. The Director is a key contributor towards the strategic direction of the brand, ensuring global consistency and local relevance. This role partners across disciplines and continents to deliver impactful brand initiatives, foster product innovation, and optimize performance. As a brand steward, the Director communicates key brand strategies, builds team cohesion, and creates differentiated guest experiences that advance the Select & Midscale brand portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a results-oriented mindset and excels in dynamic, cross-functional environments. The Director will be responsible for multiple brands, representing and championing those brands across global discipline partners and continent partners, collaboratively monitoring overall brand health metrics, e.g., unit growth and customer satisfaction. The Director will also be responsible for leading key brand strategy projects and/or collaborating with continents on brand projects, to support the overall longer-term brand positioning and relevance for consumers and owners. The Director has oversight for all Global Brand documents to support the positioning, marketing, sales and development of the brands they are leading.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supports execution of brand positioning for assigned brands, enabling global consistency and local relevance
  • Actively participates in developing and refining brand strategies and differentiation by gathering and analyzing consumer, competitive, and stakeholder insights
  • Contributes to the creation and implementation of brand business plans, focusing on product/service models, value proposition, and economic strategy at the brand level
  • Executes brand initiatives and projects within assigned brands, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Tracks brand performance, providing regular updates and insights to support optimization efforts
  • Assists with the implementation of brand optimization initiatives
  • Acts as a brand steward by communicating brand strategy, positioning, and key pillars to internal teams and external partners
  • Facilitates communication and coordination, enabling continent teams to implement and localize global strategies, tools a/o platforms effectively
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams—including design, standards, experience design, marketing, and operations—to support the execution of brand initiatives and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Applies consumer insights, market trends, and analytics to support the development of innovative products and experiences that enhance brand differentiation and guest engagement
  • Manages day-to-day delivery of brand-specific innovation projects, ensuring alignment with global guidelines and supporting integration efforts
  • Works with cross-functional teams to assist in evaluating operational feasibility and scalability of new products and initiatives, supporting implementation from concept to launch
  • Implements strategies to strengthen team cohesion and efficiency, ensuring daily operations consistently support enterprise priorities and objectives
  • Leads and motivates team members to encourage excellence and continuous improvement within assigned projects and initiatives

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major
  • Seven or more years professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
  • Demonstrated ability to support the development and execution of brand plans and business strategies
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing brand-specific projects or initiatives
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
