Job Description:

As a Fleet Workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the VMU's at Bellshill and Edinburgh, and all vehicles satisfy DOT standards for road-worthiness.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the VMU's at Bellshill and Edinburgh
  • Ensure all vehicles satisfy DOT standards for road-worthiness

Requirements:

  • Ensure efficient and effective operation of the VMU and achieve targeted KPIs and objectives
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles to minimum DOT standards in line with the company preventative maintenance programme
  • Complete relevant documents for all work undertaken
  • Ensure all company preventative maintenance and service schedules are adhered to
  • Prepare all necessary reports and paperwork
  • Road test vehicles (where qualified)
  • Ensure correct and effective safe use of all tool, plant and ancillary equipment
  • Ensure PPE is worn in accordance with the company’s Health and safety policy
  • Ensure that all HASWA/Legislation/Security procedures are adhered to and that good housekeeping is maintained
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer care
  • Ensure no vehicle leaves the VMU in an unroadworthy condition
  • Manage, train and develop employees within the team
  • Develop staff for succession through coaching, delegation and feedback
  • Promote a professional image of the company and comply with the company’s policies and code of conduct
  • Comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Security Regulations
  • Seek continuous improvement through ongoing quality initiatives
  • Take all reasonable action to ensure the safety and security of vehicles and equipment
  • Carry out any other duty deemed reasonable by management
  • Maintain and comply with company health and safety standards
