Sitting within the Shipping Services arm of the HSSEQ team, the purpose of this role is to advise and provide support, ensuring legal, statutory, and procedural compliance for all Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality aspects across the Shipping Services fleet, under the direction of the Marine Lead. The primary aim is to support our targets of zero harm and zero spills across the fleet through fostering a strong safety culture.
Job Responsibility:
To undertake a sailing voyage aboard each vessel in the fleet at least once a year
While onboard: watch, review and propose changes and improvements to operations and provide training
Conduct internal ISM, ISPS and TMSA audits covering the fleet, office and Manning Agency locations
Partake in external company audits such as TMSA reviews, DOC and ISO audits
Promote Life Saving Rules and marine safety compliance during vessel visits including development of a strong on-board safety culture
Development and updating of safety related training materials
Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of a fleetwide Virtual learning Environment
Assist in the maintenance and operation of the QMS system, reviewing, updating manuals and procedures
Manage and quality assure marine related operational projects outside the scope of business as usual
Investigate incidents as required, following incident investigation methodology and produce reports
Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of relevant Maritime and HSEQ legislation such as ISM, ISPS, SOLAS and ISO standards
A maritime background is necessary – Time spent working onboard commercial vessels preferable
An ability to use training aides and deliver training to a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures
Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications

Experience in incident investigation
Courses in incident investigation and media training
Willingness to spend time aboard company vessels whilst on passage
Self-initiative and motivation
Ability to undertake frequent travel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
