Job Description

The Plant Supervisor will take full responsibility for the servicing and maintenance of all company-owned plant. Ensure all plant on site is properly maintained and appropriately allocated; report any misuse or opportunities to improve allocation. Identify and report potential issues or breakdown risks across all plant, containers, and welfare facilities, and recommend preventative measures. Coordinate rapid response to breakdowns and track associated downtime and costs. Monitor and report all plant-related costs monthly. Coordinate plant deliveries and collections. Oversee the spraying and branding of plant and fleet. Ensure all plant and equipment are properly certified. Conduct appraisals of site accommodation and lead upgrades or refurbishments of plant, containers, and welfare facilities. Manage CVRs, MOTs, and NCTs. Ensure all relevant plant and vehicles are properly taxed. Support the Office Manager in managing accidents and incident reporting. Ensure all plant and fleet operations comply with health and safety regulations. Liaise with H&S officers regarding inspections, audits, and incident prevention.

Requirements

  • Experience in conducting feasibility assessments on whether equipment should be hired or purchased
  • Arrange ordering of site fuel and skips
  • Support initiatives to reduce operating costs
  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing plant, vehicles, and equipment
  • Negotiate, obtain and compare quotes
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, repair workshops, and hire companies
  • Basic knowledge of Excel is required

  • Advance reliability (RCM/TPM) and predictive maintenance (vibration, infrared, ultrasound, oil analysis) to improve MTBF/MTTR and eliminate repeat failures via structured RCA
  • Own the CMMS (Megamation or similar): robust PM program, accurate failure coding, spares strategy, backlog health, and weekly schedule adherence with high data quality
  • Ensure maintenance and calibration support GFSI (SQF/BRC) expectations—manage food-grade lubricants, temporary repairs, tool control, and audit-ready documentation
